The first Monday night game of the season has gone final, and unlike their big blue brethren, the Jets came away with a nitty gritty defensive win. In which the Jet's defense forced 4 turnovers and sacked Josh Allen 5 times! The Jets' defense looked incredible, they kept everything in front of them limiting the chunk plays that Josh Allen and the Bills are so known for. Two of the most impressive players tonight were Quincy and Quinnen Williams, the latter being an already-established NFL star. The brothers combined for 15 tackles, 2 TFLs, and a sack. Hopefully, with this performance, Quincy can launch himself into stardom and create a fun and dynamic duo with his brother leading the Jet's defense. Now the bad, Aaron Rodgers... he's done. On the 4th offensive play of the day for the Jets Rodgers started to roll out when he got hit from behind and rolled up on. At this moment nothing has been put out other than it was an "Achilles Injury". But it's a torn Achilles, when you watch as many hours of sports as I have you unfortunately see a lot of Injuries and this has got to be a torn Achilles. And if it is an Achilles, Rodgers is done for the year, and with his age who knows about next year. It's sad, I'm sad. I am not a Jets fan but I am an Aaron Rodgers fan, and this team that the Jets have assembled is probably the best team Rodgers has been a part of since the 2011 Super Bowl team. Rodgers is the most talented quarterback in NFL history and it's hard to argue otherwise. The team was constantly plagued with bad management throughout his career with the Packers.
Poor drafting and few quality free-agency signings were just some of the things Aaron had to deal with in Green Bay. Then finally he got traded to a team willing to build a team around him, going and getting him weapons and building a defense that can get some stops just for it all to be taken away in a blink of an eye. This team with Aaron Rodgers was the most complete team in football and was going to compete for a Super Bowl. Now they are maybe a wild card team who could get frisky in the first week of the playoffs. Zach Wilson played well enough to win the game tonight, but he did nothing for three quarters. It wasn't until the fourth quarter that Wilson finally threw a touchdown, now he was clutch and got them to overtime. But even in overtime it wasn't Wilson who won this game, the defense pushed the Bills back and then rookie returner Xavier Gipson had an incredible return with maybe a missed tripping call in it to win the game. The Jets won this game not because of Wilson, but despite him. Everything went the Jets' way, the Bills turned the ball over, the rushing game was solid, and even the special teams got a score in. Had the Bills just not imploded they would have won this game, all Josh Allen had to do was not throw 3 interceptions. Yet that is what happened, and the Jets took advantage of the mistakes and won. So enjoy this one tonight Jet's fans, party it up and dance like no one is watching. Because with the rising of the sun tomorrow, will come the realization that 39-year-old Aaron Rodgers is done for the year, and his future is uncertain. This game was a nightmare, and the NFL should shut down Metlife.
