PAC 12 Coaches are Jealous of Shedeur Sanders?

Updated: Nov 12, 2023

On Wednesday October 4th the Athletic posted an article quoting an anonymous Pac12 assistant coach saying that Shedeur Sanders "I think they want to rack up some stats for Shedeur. He really holds on to the ball a long time. I think he takes sacks because he doesn’t want to affect his completion percentage." Now this is not the first time Colorado has faced hate this season. Fans, coaches, players, and media personalities around college football have been hating on the Buffaloes all year. And while most of the hate is not necessarily aimed at Colorado and more towards the incredible amount of attention being paid towards them by the media. But still there are people who dislike the Buffaloes because of the personality the team has and the swagger that they and Coach Prime posses. But this is new, a coach someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes football accusing Colorado and Shedeur Sanders of "Stat Padding". Now the accusation is that Sanders is holding the ball too long and taking sacks rather than throw the ball away and risk tanking his 78% completion percentage which is second in the Pac12. This is dumb so so SO DUMB, and that's coming from me a famously dumb guy. This statement was made about the Buffaloes 42-6 loss against Oregon. Anyone who watched this game knows that it was never in question it was shellacking straight from the start. And so straight from the start Colorado played from behind which forced them to throw the ball and definitely effected the play of Shedeur. Being down in a game like that can rattle a QB especially a young QB who hasn't played from behind in many games in his football career. Couple that with his leading reciever Xavier Weaver leaving game with an injury and Heisman candidate Travis Hunter not being dressed. Shedeur held the ball hoping to make the big play that would get them back in the game, but that play would never come. And without his regular recievers and playing against a far more talented team (for now) Shedeur held the ball and was sacked multiple times, and it wasn't because he was stat padding. Shedeur was simply trying to make a play, and unfortunately it didn't work out for him or Colorado. Now one thing has been bothering me about this statement, and it's the question "Why?". Why would an assistant coach make these incredibly idiotic statements? Clearly this coach has something against coach Sanders and Shedeur. And while I originally suspected an Oregon coach based off of the emotion the Ducks and their head coach Dan Lanning portrayed before, during, and after their matchup against the Buffaloes. But I actually believe it to be a coach that is on the sidelines in LA, and now I'm not certain which coach it is mostly because division power five coach staffs are massive. But this is without a doubt a coach at USC. Now you may be wonder "Owen how do you know this?" That my friends is simple, let's break it down. So first off, if this were true(which it's not) who would it hurt? The answer Heisman contenders in the Pac12, and the shortlist of those are Bo Nix of Oregon, Michael Penix of Washington, and Caleb Williams of USC. Now of those three Caleb Williams the returning Heisman winner is having the "worst" season of the three. Now I put worst in quotation marks because Williams is still having a fantastic season just not quite his season last year and not quite on pace with Penix and Nix. And second who just got embarrassed by Colorado and maybe got burned by Shedeur holding the ball but having recievers actually get open... USC. All signs point towards the Trojans and their porous defense. So once again Deion and Colorado football have to endure attacks by the haters but once again their is just as dumb and misguided as they are.

I Hate Throwing The Ball Behind The Line

Throwing the ball behind the line of scrimmage is an infection, and it's killing offenses. Now before you go saying "you don't know ball"...
