Well well well it seems as though Texas may not be the team I and many others thought they were. As the Longhorns came into today ranked number three in the AP poll, and primed for a CFB playoff run. All Steve Sarkisian and Texas had to do was win out in a weak Big12 and they would guaranteed a spot in the post season something they have yet to do in the playoff era. But today an old nemesis reared it's ugly head. The Oklahoma came into this season shaky and uncertain, second year head coach Brent Venables was on the hot seat after going 6-7 last year and losing their bowl game against Florida State. But despite last years struggles the Oklahoma Sooners were strong going 5-0 coming into today, but they hadn't beat anyone of merit. Meanwhile Texas who went into Bryant Denny stadium and defeated Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Was the favorite coming into today, and I along with many others expected Texas to win. But boy were we wrong! Oklahoma walked into Dallas and bullied the FUCK out of Texas. Now the score says they only won 30-34, but this game was not as close as the score indicates. Oklahoma bullied the Longhorns all day, with QB Dylan Gabriel doing damage with both his legs and through the air. Ending with 398 all purpose yards and a pair of touchdowns. And with this win Gabriel have just thrown himself into the running for the Heisman Trophy and the Playoff. Oklahoma is now certainly poised for a playoff spot and if they get there who knows what could happen. Meanwhile Texas this is just the most recent heartbreak in what has been a painful two decades since their last National Championship appearance. If your a Longhorns fan two questions have got to be bouncing around your head "What now? And if not now, then when?" This was supposed to be the year! This was supposed to Texas's time in the spotlight! They conquered Bama a feat they almost accomplished last year but fell short. All they had to do was win out, and once again they just fell short. That phrase "just fell short" it feels repetitive. Every Texas has huge preseason hopes and a high ranking and they can never capitalize. This year they finally have a healthy and experienced Quinn Ewers, the highest ranking recruit in history! And they Just Fall Short... So what do they do? Do you fire Sark? I think unfortunately it's heading this way. Texas came out flat, and uninspired against a ranked matchup with their biggest rival. Their defense looked soft and Sarks offense couldn't keep up. So just when Texas fans believed they had crawled out of the hole of despair they had been in, they fall right back in. But this time I'm not sure how they crawl out. Texas fans and Sark better pray Arch Manning is the real deal, because of not... It might be over
